IOM is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 documentary based in the San Francisco Bay Area, led by award-winning filmmaker Marc Shaffer.
Our most recent documentary is Exposing Muybridge, winner of the Writers Guild Award, and praised by critics as "fascinating" (The Guardian), "exquisite" (FilmInk), "tremendously entertaining" (San Francisco Chronicle) and one of the best documentaries on photography ever made (TechRadar).
Our other films have exposed dangerous flaws in U.S. immigration policies, problems in the legal marijuana industry, and the falsehoods behind the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
Under the IOM banner, and through external partnerships, Marc Shaffer has directed numerous award-winning documentaries, seen by millions on National Geographic, PBS, Al Jazeera, Netflix, AppleTV, Amazon Prime, YouTube and elsewhere.
